Endorsements

A number of companies have sent me products, asking for a write-up, post, endorsement, etc., and I thought that it would be prudent to set-down some guidelines and policies for how endorsements and product testings work on Besotted.

  1. Besotted is a direct reflection of foods and recipes from my own kitchen, and I will happily talk about and endorse any product that I would happily have in my kitchen.
  2. If you’ve read my blog, you know that my cooking tends towards whole and organic ingredients. I do use processed foods (pastas, sauces, rubs, natural mixes, etc.), but I read ingredient labels and steer clear of products that contain a number of unidentifiable ingredients.
  3. If you think that your product and Besotted are a good match, please e-mail me at jessica at besottedgourmet dot com, tell me about your product, and I’ll send you my mailing address.
  4. I’ll try your product in a couple of different ways, depending on the size of the sample and type of product. If the results/product is great and something that I would use in my kitchen, I will happily write a post about the recipe/product. If not, I’ll send an e-mail explaining why I’ve chosen not to write about it.
  5. The criteria is, unfortunately, very subjective – it’s simply my taste whether I like something or not, but here are a few helpful guidelines:

    1. If the product is organic or all natural, it will be a good fit for my kitchen.
    2. The taste should be out-of-this-world. As I tend to cook from scratch, it’ll take something really superior to sway me, but it can happen, and I’m happy to tell people when it does.
    3. A “new” find is more intriguing than something that has been available in Wal-Mart since 1996; if you have a new product that you’re really excited about and want help getting the word out, I’m happy to give it a try.

If you think that your product belongs in the Besotted kitchen, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to try it out.

Cheers!

Jessie
